E-mail has long since been classed as a business
critical line of business application which users require
and in some cases demand access to 24 x 365. For IT, delivering
this capability is not always straightforward and is fraught
with security implications, multiple mobile devices which
creates a logistical nightmare operationally. For the user
this could mean multiple devices for calling someone, to getting
e-mail and even voicemail. For the business this is far from
efficiency and inefficiency is costly.
Through the use of Exchange Server 2007, IT can deliver all
e-mail and voicemail from one application, simplifying access
for the user and reducing complexity and cost for IT.
Where an e-mail upgrade is not always appropriate, solutions
are available to deliver similar functionality through the
integration of Cisco technology with products such as Unity.
