We are delighted to announce that BT has yet again, been recognised as the world's top telecommunications company in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI). This is the eighth consecutive year that BT has topped its sector.
DJSI assesses 2,500 companies worldwide, covering areas such as corporate governance and ethical practices, investor relations, environmental management and climate change, digital inclusion, community investment, human rights, health and safety, diversity, supply chain and risk management.
To have topped the sector for eight years in a row further underscores what was already an outstanding achievement. The DJSI is a world renowned benchmark of excellence in sustainability and competition for the top spot is fierce. The assessment criteria becomes increasingly demanding each year, so this result has helped cement our position as a leader in sustainable business.
This fantastic achievement reflects the huge amount of effort invested from across BT to embed sustainability polices and practices into business as usual and to help quantify and demonstrate our social, environmental and economic impacts.
